  • Alex Szczepkowski, Pickleball Coach

    Alex Szczepkowski, Director

    Alex grew up in Marlton, NJ, and currently lives in Hammonton, NJ.  He’s a 5.0/pro level tournament player, and absolutely lives and breathes pickleball.

    Alex grew up playing a variety of sports including tennis.  At the age of 15, he began teaching tennis to kids and adults.  Although his main passion was hockey, Alex always thought tennis would be the sport he would play forever…until he found pickleball.

    In 2019, Alex discovered pickleball, and just like most people, was instantly hooked.  He has now been teaching clinics and private/group lessons for 3+ years, and has helped 100s of students.

    His love of pickleball, and passion for helping others grow their game is always on display with his positive, enthusiastic coaching style.  For Alex, there is no greater reward then a call or text from an excited student after successfully executing a new shot, or a picture of them after winning a medal.  

  • Tanner Tomassi, Pickleball Coach

    Tanner Tomassi, Co-Director

    Tanner was born and raised in Longport NJ, and has been living there for the entirety of his life. He currently plays 5.0-level pickleball tournaments and loves teaching players of all ages and levels.

    Tanner grew up playing all sports, however, quickly gravitated towards a focus throughout high school. After discovering pickleball through gym class and loving it, he knew it would appear in his life again. During the pandemic, he stated playing again and, like many others, became addicted.

    Tanner began teaching in 2021 and quickly developed a passion for helping players grow their games and developing lifelong bonds with his students. His love for teaching, combined with his own passion for playing at the highest level, has created a perfect recipe for Tanner to become a top-notch coach. His favorite thing about coaching is seeing smiles from students when they understand or apply a new concept to their game.

  • Remy Pelosi, Pickleball Coach

    Remy Pelosi, Staff Pro

    Remy was born in Atlantic City, NJ and grew up in Margate. She played competitive tennis in high school at Atlantic City High School and The Peddie School and was on the University of Vermont’s snowboard team. She eventually found pickleball in her life and is now a tournament player and coach!

    After about 5 years of practicing law, Remy switched careers to be home more for her daughter. Her focus became teaching yoga, personal training and helping others meet their personal fitness goals. Remy gained experience working with clients of all ages, from toddlers to adults in their 80’s. She has taught yoga, boxing, weight training, barre, pilates and stretching, and now pickleball!

    She tried pickleball for the first time in 2021, played and medaled in her first tournament, and has medaled in every tournament she’s played in since. Remy loves the inclusiveness of the sport and enjoys getting others “hooked.” Remy is passionate about pickleball and has taught her siblings and parents how to play so they can always have a foursome. She is a patient and enthusiastic instructor and is so excited to coach!

  • Steff Hollander, Pickleball Coach

    Steff Hollander, Staff Pro

    Steff was born and raised in Margate, NJ, and now resides in Egg Harbor Township. She started playing pickleball in 2018, and has become a huge advocate for the sport. In addition to playing on a consistent basis and medaling in multiple tournaments, she considers herself a “true pickleball enthusiast” and does whatever she can to get more people playing!

    Steff is always eager to better herself on the court and those around her, and loves the motto “never stop learning & keep evolving”. She is excited to be part of the Montclair Pickleball Atlantic County team and continue sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion for pickleball with the Atlantic County community.

  • Andy Niesen, Pickleball Coach

    Andy Niesen, Staff Pro

    Andy Niesen is an avid pickleball player, accomplished tournament player, and a PPR certified coach. He’s a former four-year varsity tennis player and considers himself a lifetime athlete. He currently lives in Margate where he plays regularly, and loves teaching players of all levels from beginners to improvers.

    Andy brings a high level of pickleball passion, professionalism, and fun to all of his students. He is very proactive in communicating with them and addressing their questions, needs and goals, and helping all his students achieve their pickleball potential. He views his role as an ambassador to this sport and aims to spread it as much as he can.

  • Christian Sbaraglia Pickleball Coach

    Christian Sbaraglia, Staff Pro

    Christian currently lives in Egg Harbor Township, NJ with his wife and daughter. He’s been a teacher for over 18 years, and is an avid pickleball player and coach.

    Christian grew up playing high-level soccer on the national and international level, and went on to play in college at Rutgers University.

    His love for pickleball began after visiting his father in Florida. Over the last 2 years, Christian has developed into a 4.0+ player, honing his skills in Ocean City, NJ. He recently earned his PPR coaching license and has begun instructing.

    His love and skill for teaching pickleball stems from his many years as a high school English educator, which he still does. Christian currently helps teach adult clinics.

  • Aaron Reznik, Montclair Pickleball

    Aaron Reznik, Founder

    Aaron grew up in and lives in Montclair, NJ, went to Montclair High School, and graduated from the University of Maryland. He’s a pickleball lover, 5.0/Pro tournament player, and co-founder of Montclair Pickleball.

    Aaron grew up playing tennis, began teaching at 16, and eventually started an academy in Montclair called First Serve Tennis with his good friend Matt. He thought tennis would be his main passion, but was introduced to pickleball during his freshman year of college when he met and developed a friendship with future World No. 1 pickleball player Ben Johns (who convinced him to try it).

    Aaron has now coached over 2000 pickleball and tennis players of all ages and levels, and frequently competes in tournaments. He loves sharing his passion for pickleball with others, and helping players improve their game while having a great time.

  • Matt Slowinski, Montclair Pickleball

    Matt Slowinski, Founder

    Matt graduated from College of the Holy Cross in 2021 where he played four years of Division I tennis and captained the team his junior and senior years. He is now another tennis player turned 5.0/Pro tournament pickleball player! Matt co-founded First Serve Tennis in 2020 with his good friend Aaron before the two of them fell in love with pickleball and created Montclair Pickleball.

    During his career as a coach, he has taught tennis and pickleball to over 2000 players and has experience teaching both kids and adults. Matt takes an adaptive, goal oriented approach to his coaching strategies and is always looking to share his experience and spread his passion for the game. For Matt, the most important thing is helping his students accomplish their goals, no matter how big or small, while enjoying the game of pickleball.

  • Rahul Datta Pickleball

    Rahul Datta, Staff Pro

    Rahul is from Princeton, New Jersey and is a 5.0 tournament player who considers pickleball his number one passion.

    Rahul grew up playing competitive basketball from a young age, playing in showcases across the east coast. However, at the end of his senior year of high school he discovered pickleball and quickly fell in love with it, becoming fully dedicated to the game. He loves teaching and meeting new players and always enjoys expanding his network and friendships in the sport.

    Outside of pickleball, Rahul is an incoming junior at Rutgers Business School majoring in Business Analytics and Data Science and aspires to found his own startup one day.
